Swimming Pool Supervisor
The City of Sherrill is seeking a Swimming Pool Supervisor to coordinate daily activities and oversee staff at the City of Sherrill pool.
The City of Sherrill pool opens in mid-June and closes by early September, depending on weather. The Swimming Pool Supervisor must be available for meetings and organizational work in May, to prepare the pool for opening in June, to supervise lifeguards and coordinate activities at the pool both during the week and on weekends June-September, and to close the pool in early September.
Responsibilities:
-Promote and organize a comprehensive swimming program including swimming lessons, lap swimming, open swimming, swim team, lifeguard training and special events.
-Assist in selecting lifeguards.
-Supervise lifeguards and coordinate lifeguard schedules.
-Maintain a safe environment and enforce rules and regulations.
-Maintain water at pool by testing water and adjusting chemicals (with assistance from Water Department).
-Assist with maintenance and repair of equipment (with assistance from Water Department).
-Ensure cleanliness of pool and facilities.
-Maintain and submit records of attendance.
-Oversee collection of fees and submit fees to City Hall.
Qualifications:
Candidates must have or obtain current lifeguarding, first aid, CPR and AED certifications. Preference will be given to candidates who are Sherrill residents and/or who also have lifeguard instructor certification and experience.
