September 11 Memorial and World Trade Center Artifact

The Sherrill Merchants Association coordinates a 9/11 Memorial to honor heroes, active military members, veterans, firefighters, law enforcement officers, EMT’s, beloved friends and family members. Flags representing these individuals are displayed in Reilly-Mumford Park. Please contact Vicki Andrews, (315) 363-5638 for more information.

In 2012 the City of Sherrill received an artifact from the World Trade Center through a program run by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. The Sherrill Merchants Association worked with Tim McLaughlin to design a case to display the artifact at City Hall. Please see the following document for a list of pieces that were saved from the Twin Towers and distributed to municipalities and such for memorials. The Sherrill piece is highlighted on page 5.
