Please see the advisory below from the City of Oneida. While this advisory should have no effect on the City of Sherrill, we feel obligated to share. As residents are aware the City of Sherrill is an Oneida water customer, and should be made aware of our any advisories relative to our water source.
The City of Oneida Water Department will be starting the Lake Street pump station July 1 due to increased water demands and this may cause some discoloration of water due to increased flow. Residents are advised to check their cold water prior to using their hot water and to use caution if washing clothes July 1 and 2. The discoloration is due to corrosion of some of the unlined mains in the City of Oneida. The discoloration may affect the City of Oneida, Sherrill-Kenwood Water District, Villages of Oneida Castle, Wampsville and Vernon, Town of Stockbridge, Prospect Street Water District, and Verona Districts. Low pressure may also be experienced for some customers off the transmission main.
