jeans for teens FB

In cooperation with DoSomething.org. and popular teen retailer, Aéropostale, St. Helena’s 9th grade Faith Formation class is participating in a national ”jeans drive” called Teens for Jeans – the largest jeans drive in the nation. Each Aéropostale store is paired with a local homeless shelter or charity, which distributes the jeans to young people in need in our community. Over the past 8 years, over 4.3 million jeans have been donated, and last year over 1,000 shelters across the U.S. and Canada participated! Not only will students help young people in our community, but VVS will be eligible to win prizes for the work- the top school will win a $5,000 school grant, and the school that collects the most jeans will win a private school concert! Jeans will be collected now through February 15, 2015. Collection boxes are available at VVS High School, VVS Middle School, at the Sherrill CAC and at St. Helena’s church. If you have any questions, please contact Julie Martin: 363-3195 or at [email protected]. Follow the progress at https://www.facebook.com/VVSTeensforJeans.
