City Budget Public Hearing

The City of Sherrill Commission will hold a public hearing on the proposed 2016 City Budget on Monday, December 14, 2015 at the City Court Room at 7:15 pm. The proposed budget presents a decrease in the City’s property tax rate from $7.18 to $7.02 per $1,000 taxable assessed value. This tax rate is the same City’s property tax rate dating back to the years 2007 – 2013. The proposed budget includes the purchase of a new loader and pick-up for the City’s department of public works, equipment and projects for all other departments including some computer upgrades at City Hall, celebration/event monies for the City’s “100th Birthday”. Additionally the services the residents have become accustomed to are funded as in prior years.

There is no proposed increase in sewer rates in 2016 and they will remain at $3.15 per 100 cu. ft. plus the customer billing charge. On a side note the Sherrill Kenwood Water Board will be considering their 2016 budget which includes a proposed 5% increase in water rates which is driven primarily by the anticipated 10% increase in water rates to the Water District from the city of Oneida.
